Burst
This moody abstract is an expression of a lot of fiery chaos I was experiencing at the time of its creation. I was living up in Maine feeling rather lost and defeated, not knowing what direction my life was heading in. The painting started out with more vibrant greens and I just didn’t like what was happening, so in a fit of anger I started smearing over it with black paint. Several layers later along with the addition of white, copper and gold paint, this beauty emerged from the darkness. After adding in the gold and copper lines and taking a step back, I realized this became an expression of how I was trying to control my anger about the chaos that was unraveling in my life. This piece proves that there is still beauty that can be found in the chaos.
Original Painting: 16”x20” (17.5”x21.5” with frame) Acrylic on canvas in black floater frame
